The 2020 season for Seattle Sounders FC was their twelfth in Major League Soccer (MLS). It was the 37th season under the Sounders name. Seattle, the reigning MLS Cup champions, started their regular season on March 1, but it was suspended on March 12 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Matches resumed in July in a special tournament. They finished second in the Western Conference, winning the conference championship but losing the 2020 MLS Cup final 3–0 to the Columbus Crew SC.
